Nadia has joined the Practice Care Network Pharmacy team and is responsible for patients at Northdown Surgery.

Community Midwives

Our midwives run ante-natal clinics from SureStart and Sainsbury’s. They also operate out of the maternity unit at QEQM Hospital where antenatal classes are held. They are able to visit you in your own home before and after the birth of your baby. If you become pregnant and/or you wish to contact the Midwives you can do so via reception or by calling 280555.

Community Nurses

Our district nurses are part of the Primary health Care Team. They are highly qualified nurses who have undergone further extensive training to enable them to specialise in providing high quality care to patients in the Community. Home visits are made at the discretion of the District Nurse and are usually only made to patients who are unable to get out of the house, or have been assessed by the District Nurse as having a physical and/or medical problem which prevents them from attending the surgery.

They assess the needs of patient in the home environment. They implement a high standard of nursing care according to identified needs and refer to other specialist nurse and agencies as appropriate. Out of hours (18:30 – 08:00 hours and weekends) please contact South East Health Ltd 03000 242424.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors and their team are part of the Primary Health Care Team. They are registered nurses with additional training in community-based health care, giving advice and support to children up until school age. Parenting courses/information, postnatal advice. groups, assessments of children’s development and links to other agencies are available through the health visiting team Contact 03000 134740.
