Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP’s) are trained nurses who have undertaken extensive additional training to degree/masters level and are able to see patients who would otherwise need to see a doctor.

An ANP will be able to assess your problem or concern, then examine, diagnose and/or arrange any appropriate investigations or referrals for further care and issue prescriptions when needed. They also make home visits when needed for housebound patients.

Northdown Surgery is committed to teamwork and ANPs liaise, as appropriate, with doctors and other clinicians towards delivering the best care possible for patients.
