Face coverings are still required

Please note that even after 27 January 2022,  patients will need to still wear a face covering in NHS settings i.e. GP practices, hospitals, dentists, optometrists and pharmacies.  This decision has been made by NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group.  This will help us to keep our patients, visitors and staff safe, especially those who are more vulnerable to infection.

Northdown Surgery are raising funds for our local hospice

The staff and friends at Northdown Surgery have been raising money for the Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent.  They did this by cycling the 26 miles Viking coastal route on Sunday 15th May 2022.  So far they have managed to raise nearly £1500 but the donation page will be open until Sunday 5th June so if you would like to donate there is still time.   All contributions greatly received.  Link to fund raising page:  Northdown Fund Raising page

Wasted appointments

In April 2022, there were 130 wasted appointments out of 3506 booked appointments (3.7%).  These appointments were all booked by patients who did not turn up and did not cancel their appointments either and could have been used for other patients.  Please remember to cancel your appointments if you no longer require them.

Patient Participation Group - 13th July 2022

The next PPG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 13th July 2022 at 6.30p.m. and will be held in the waiting room at the surgery.  Our last meeting was held on Wednesday, 20th April 2022 and the minutes of this meeting are being prepared but when posted, can be found under the Patient Group tab (top of screen).  We still URGENTLY require a vice Chairperson although we do have somebody interested in the secretarial post.  Contact Toni Miles at the surgery if you would like to find out more about any voluntary role.

Covid Vaccinations

Please  note that the vaccination centre is no longer at Saga but can now be found at the old Curry's building (near The Range).   No appointment necessary and walk-in vaccinations are available.

Inappropriate Social Media usage

It has come to our attention that some people are leaving unofficial reviews on various social media sites (e.g. facebook etc), including the use of extremely inappropriate language and personal attacks on members of staff.  This is not acceptable and may result in action being taken by the surgery (and other public bodies).  These sites are not anything to do with Northdown Surgery - we have no editing or control rights and no responses will be made to these comments.  In order to have your review/feedback/complaint responded to in the appropriate way, please use the correct channels as above.
